Sandy Simcox and Dr. Rebecca Roberts-Martin successfully certified in ORAS

Sandy Simcox and Dr. Rebecca Roberts-Martin took the training and exam for the Ohio Risk Assessment System (ORAS) in June and they both received their certifications on 11/26/2013!!! This is a huge accomplishment. Connections was the only agency attending these trainings outside of law enforcement and probation!! Sandy and Rebecca wil now be able to view risk assessment data for incarcerated individuals. The ultimate goal is to incorporate this into a MHDD/agency treatment plan, which Rebecca is working on with a team through the probation department.

Mike and Peppy Senders Outstanding Service Award Dr. Joseph and Mrs. Lynda Steiner

The Steiners epitomize the beautiful concept of altruistic service without any intent of receiving an award. They devote themselves to the community purely because it is the right thing to do. From their earliest involvement with Fuchs Mizrachi School they were willing to take on any task, be part of any committee, or perform any duty that the school required. It did not matter if the labor seemed menial or there would not be any recognition - they believed strongly in what the school stood, and continues to stand, for and were happy to help it survive and then thrive. Volunteers who are both gracious and efficient while shunning the limelight are treasured commodities and therefore we recognize the Steiners as exemplars of this model of service.
